Jealousy

"That rani's mummy ,so stupid she can't even pronounce a single English word properly but  trying her daughter to get admission in an english medium school , Is not it funny sumit"? My wife rajni asked me. 

"why are you bothered about them let them do whatever they want, they also have the right to posess good education", i replied. 

I always wonder why ladies have so much interest to know  whats cooking  in neigbour's pots. Alas! we can't do anything about it. It may be same in all cases. In between these conversation  Rani's mummy arrived at our home, she had some documents and a newspaper with her.

 She is tall, beautiful, well dressed and have all good qualities crafted in her except one thing that she is uneducated. I always feel that  not every person choose to remain uneducated, it is their situation or lack of facilities that plays lead to make them underprivileged. She asked me to read an advertisement of  a big english medium public school offering free education to some economically backward students. Well i  am surprised to see an uneducated mom being so serious about her daughter's study but on another  side its a great pleasure to see such a stubborn mother pleading for her daughters betterment. I guided her through out the advertisement and advised rani how to prepare for the entrance examination for the admission.

Meanwhile rajni was in a furious mood seeing me helping rani's mom. She just came out and placed the water glass so hard on the table that half of the water poured on my face. But i am feeling happy after helping them. Knowledge is all about sharing and spreading that's what i believe. After their departure actual drama happened I was accused and humiliated for helping them even i was blamed of willing to have an extramarital affair with Rani's mother, i am so shocked that i could not decide whether to laugh or to get angry.  

that night i was not offered food and had to sleep hungry after a deadly battle of  blame, humiliation. On the next day when i wake up i saw Rajni standing near my head like a ghost holding  a newspaper. "Look at this advertisement and our daughter will get admission in this school,it is better than Rani's school", she said. 

"But honey we have no children yet", i said and smiled. 

Now i am confused ,what was that feeling which drove her nearly to madness. Is it jealousy? and she is jealous of that woman whom she was calling stupid ,ignorant last day. 

                                      

all children have right to education be it a boy or a girl. Education For All.
